    The Architects’ Forum: SQL Server 2008 Philippine Launch

    The SQL Server 2008 Philippine Launch is a half day technical event designed for SQL Server database administrators and IT professionals. Majority of the breakout sessions will be lead by the Microsoft Customer Advisory Team which are part of the SQL Development team at Microsoft Headquarters in Redmond. They assist with the deployments and tuning of some of the largest deployments of SQL Server 100+TB, most complex implementations and take those lessons back to become enhancements for future products. Benefit from hearing first hand from experts in the Microsoft Customer Advisory team as they deliver best practices, real world experience, design and deployment of SQL Server enterprise solutions/systems on the SQL Server 2008 platform.

      Relational Engine SQL Server 2008 Improvements  Part I  Lubor Kollar, Customer Advisory Team, Microsoft Corporation Abstract: Lubor will cover some of the relational engine improvements in 2008, namely star join processing advancements, parallelism for partitioned tables (and other changes related to partitioning), Merge (a.k.a. “spiced up” Upsert), Grouping sets, and query plan freezing. This will be interactive deep dive session with many examples and peeks behind the scenes.
      Relational Engine SQL Server 2008 Improvements Part II Mark Souza, Customer Advisory Team, Microsoft Corporation Abstract: Mark will cover some of the relational engine improvements in 2008, namely Data Compression,  Backup Compression, new data types, Resource Governor and a few more surprises. This will be interactive deep dive session with many examples and peeks behind the scenes
      SQL Server 2008 SSAS enhancements Nicholas Dritsas, Customer Advisory Team, Microsoft Corporation Abstract:  Nicholas will take you into detail of the speaker SQL Server 2008 enhancements related to SQL Server 2008 SSAS.   He will share some of the early experiences from customers deployments and internal testing we did back in Redmond, WA
      SQL Server 2008 Database Auditing Michael Hotek, MCITP - SQL Server DBA Abstract: With the proliferation of regulatory requirements coupled with wide spread SQL Server deployment throughout an enterprise, organizations face an increasingly difficult task of managing and tracking their data platforms.  SQL Server 2008 ships with several features, infrastructure components, and management interfaces that enable an organization to baseline, track changes, and enforce policies within a database infrastructure.  This session will cover the implementation, deployment, and management of an overall database auditing framework that includes DDL triggers, Signatures, Policy Based Management, Change Tracking, Change Data Capture, and the SQL Server event notification model.
