PHISSUG Policy on Non-Appearance on PHISSUG Events (v1.0)
Backgrounder
Non-Appearance on PHISSUG Events. This means an individual has registered on a PHISSUG event, has not cancelled prior to the event and has not shown up on the day of the event. PHISSUG Events are events where PHISSUG is the leading sponsor of the said event.
PHISSUG has tried and tested some measures recently to limit the occurrence of no-shows on the day of the event. Measures were already implemented in the last event (Aug 5 2008) and the upcoming events (particularly that of Aug 19 2008). As of August 5 2008, PHISSUG Event (Best Practices on Installation and Configuration), PHISSUG implemented (on trial) the following:
1. PHISSUG opened 40 out of 50 seats (80%) of the event to PHISSUG members that have no previous record of non-appearance via direct email invitation. The event was not announced to the public for 3 days to give PHISSUG members a chance to register for the event prior to public announcement. Before the day ended, 40 have registered.
2. 3 days after, PHISSUG announce and posted the event in PHISSUG.NET and MSFORUMS.PH. The remaining 10 slots were instantly filled. And more has emailed requesting if they can be accommodated. As per policy, PHISSUG cannot accommodate more than the event’s maximum capacity, so some interested individuals were not accommodated in the event.
As usual, like in the past events (PHISSUG or otherwise), a substantial percentage of those who have registered never showed up. Now, PHISSUG will officially impose a policy against non-appearance. The following are the measures that will be taken by PHISSUG in every event that it will sponsor:
The Policy
1. A PHISSUG member or individual that has registered to a PHISSUG event, has not cancelled prior to the event and not showed up on the day of the event will be blacklisted.
2. Those in the blacklist will not receive any communication or privileges from PHISSUG. Blacklisted individuals may also be denied entry in future PHISSUG events. However, blacklisted individuals are not removed from PHISSUG membership.
3. The individual will remain blacklisted until he/she pays a fee of P150 pesos for the removal of his name on the black list. By paying the blacklist removal fee of P150.00, individuals can start clean with PHISSUG. Previous offenses will be erased completely.
